Someone's Ticket

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy governs the conditions under which refunds may be issued for event tickets purchased through the Someone's Ticket platform.

Someone's Ticket operates as a digital ticketing platform that facilitates the sale and distribution of tickets on behalf of independent event organizers. The platform provides technological infrastructure enabling event organizers to list events and users to purchase tickets electronically.

By purchasing a ticket through Someone's Ticket, users agree to the conditions described in this Refund Policy, the Ticket Sales Agreement and Ticketing Policy, the Terms of Use, and all applicable event-specific conditions.

This policy is designed in accordance with the legal framework of the United Arab Emirates, including but not limited to:

  • Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection
  • Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2023 on Electronic Commerce
  • Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection
  • UAE Civil Transactions Law (Federal Law No. 5 of 1985)

1. Role of Someone's Ticket

Someone's Ticket operates solely as a ticketing technology platform that facilitates the sale and distribution of event tickets. Someone's Ticket does not organize, host, or manage events unless explicitly stated on the event page. Responsibility for the event remains with the event organizer, including:
  • Event scheduling
  • Venue selection
  • Event program and performers
  • Ticket pricing
  • Capacity and seating allocation
  • Admission policies
  • Event cancellation or postponement decisions
Accordingly, refund eligibility may depend on the policies established by the relevant event organizer. Someone's Ticket acts only as a technical intermediary between event organizers and ticket purchasers.

2. General Refund Principle

Tickets purchased through Someone's Ticket are for events scheduled on specific dates and times. Under UAE consumer protection regulations and widely accepted ticketing practices, purchases for scheduled entertainment events are typically non-refundable once the transaction is complete. Unless otherwise stated on the event page or required by applicable law, ticket purchases are final and binding. Refunds are only permitted under the circumstances described in this Refund Policy.

3. Event Cancellation

If the event organizer cancels an event, ticket purchasers may be eligible for a refund. Refund procedures and eligibility depend on the event organizer's instructions. When an event cancellation is confirmed, Someone's Ticket will notify ticket holders using the contact information associated with their purchase. In the event of cancellation:
  • Ticket holders may be eligible for a refund of the ticket face value
  • Refunds will be processed according to the instructions of the event organizer
  • Service fees and transaction charges may remain non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law
Refunds will be issued using the original payment method whenever technically possible. Processing time may vary depending on the payment provider and banking institution.

4. Event Postponement or Rescheduling

Events may occasionally be postponed or rescheduled by the event organizer. In such situations, the original ticket generally remains valid for the new event date. Ticket holders are encouraged to attend the rescheduled event with their original tickets. The event organizer determines refund eligibility for event postponements. If the event organizer authorizes refunds for postponed events, refund procedures will be communicated to ticket holders through the platform. If refunds are authorized, they may be limited to the ticket face value. Service charges, processing fees, and payment gateway fees may remain non-refundable.

5. Event Modification

Event organizers may modify aspects of an event, including but not limited to:
  • Performer lineup
  • Event schedule
  • Venue layout
  • Event duration
Such changes do not necessarily qualify as grounds for a refund unless the event organizer explicitly authorizes refunds. Ticket purchases grant access to the event rather than to a specific performer or program element, unless otherwise stated.

6. Refusal of Entry or Removal from Venue

Ticket holders must comply with the event organizer's and venue's rules and entry policies. Failure to comply with event or venue rules may result in:
  • Refusal of entry
  • Removal from the venue
  • Ticket invalidation
Examples may include, but are not limited to:
  • Violation of venue safety regulations
  • Prohibited items
  • Inappropriate conduct
  • Failure to meet age restrictions
  • Intoxication or disruptive behavior
In such cases, refunds will not be provided.

7. Duplicate, Lost, or Stolen Tickets

Someone's Ticket cannot guarantee refunds or replacements for tickets that are:
  • Lost
  • Stolen
  • Duplicated
  • Transferred to unauthorized parties
Ticket holders are responsible for protecting their digital tickets and account access credentials. Unauthorized duplication or resale of tickets may result in ticket cancellation without refund.

8. Fraud Prevention and Ticket Invalidity

Someone's Ticket reserves the right to cancel tickets suspected of being obtained through:
  • Fraudulent transactions
  • Unauthorized payment methods
  • Violation of platform policies
  • Misuse of promotional codes
If tickets are cancelled due to suspected fraud or policy violations, refunds may be withheld pending investigation.

9. Service Fees and Processing Charges

Ticket purchases through Someone's Ticket may include service charges and transaction fees. These fees compensate the platform for:
  • Ticket processing
  • Payment gateway costs
  • Digital ticket delivery
  • Platform operation
Service fees are generally non-refundable, even when ticket refunds are authorized. Payment processing fees charged by third-party financial institutions may also remain non-refundable.

10. Refund Request Process

If the event organizer authorizes a refund, refund requests must be submitted through the Someone's Ticket platform or customer support channels. Refund requests may require:
  • Proof of purchase
  • Order identification number
  • Confirmation of eligibility under event organizer policies
Refund requests submitted outside the authorized period may not be accepted. Refund processing time may vary depending on the payment provider and the banking institution.

11. Ticket Transfers and Resale

Certain events may permit ticket transfers or resale through approved channels. Unauthorized resale of tickets through third-party platforms may result in the invalidation of those tickets. Someone's Ticket does not guarantee the validity of tickets obtained from unauthorized sellers. Refunds will not be issued for tickets purchased through unofficial channels.

12. Force Majeure

Refund obligations may be affected by events beyond the control of Someone's Ticket or the event organizer. Force majeure events may include, but are not limited to:
  • Natural disasters
  • Government restrictions
  • Public health emergencies
  • Acts of war or terrorism
  • Infrastructure disruptions
In such circumstances, refund policies will follow the instructions provided by the event organizer and applicable legal requirements.

13. Limitation of Liability

Someone's Ticket provides a digital platform facilitating ticket purchases. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Someone's Ticket shall not be liable for:
  • Event cancellations
  • Event postponements
  • Event program changes
  • Venue access decisions
  • Organizer performance
Responsibility for the event's execution remains solely with the event organizer.

14. Governing Law

This Refund Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from ticket purchases or refunds shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.

15. Updates to the Refund Policy

Someone's Ticket reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time in response to legal, operational, or regulatory changes. Updated versions will be published on the platform and will become effective upon publication. Users are encouraged to review the Refund Policy periodically.
